Low-poly trees, rocks and nature for three.js

112 trees, rocks, hedges and planting props: oaks and pines, plaza ficus and topiary, date palms and papyrus, boulders and mesa outcrops. Recorded triangle counts span 180–17,866, with a median of 622; recorded file sizes span 2.8 KiB–122.1 KiB. Free nature models here: 57. Pick the silhouette and climate your scene needs, then test the density on your target device. A grove, a roadside verge and a distant hillside call for different placement budgets.

Trees, rocks and everything you scatter

Nature is the dressing that stops a street reading as architecture on an empty plane. Trees establish a canopy, hedges divide spaces, rocks break up the ground and planters soften a hard plaza edge. This grid brings together the currently published nature models.

What a scatter actually costs

Recorded triangle counts span 180–17,866, and recorded compressed file sizes span 2.8 KiB–122.1 KiB. Reuse a model with InstancedMesh when the geometry and materials permit it. Instancing can reduce draw calls, but a dense forest still needs testing for visible geometry, shadows and overdraw. Start with the camera position and scene density you expect to ship, not a promise that every tree is cheap enough to ignore.

Mixing climates and settings

An oak, a plaza ficus and a date palm tell different stories even before you place a building. Choose plantings that fit the setting and check their dimensions before scattering them. The buildings collection helps you compare the greenery with the architecture it will frame. Variation in rotation and spacing can make a small selection read naturally without hiding the path through your scene.

Questions

Test that density on your target device. Recorded triangle counts in this collection span 180–17,866; repeated compatible geometry can use InstancedMesh to reduce draw calls. Shadows, visible triangles and materials still contribute to frame cost.
The original low-poly nature sets use flat-shaded colors and shared materials rather than photographic texture maps. Check each model and its pack documentation for the current material setup instead of assuming every new pack has identical requirements.
Load the GLB into your scene or editor and position the trunk or rock base on your terrain. Check its dimensions alongside nearby buildings, then adjust the position to follow the local slope and keep the base in contact with the ground.
Commercial and client work are covered by the applicable asset license, with no attribution requirement. Redistribution of the model files themselves is restricted; see what you can and can't do for the terms.
