About Desert Kingdom

Desert Kingdom is an ancient-Egypt environment kit for three.js and React Three Fiber, built around the landmarks people expect to see: a Giza-style great pyramid, a guardian sphinx, obelisks, a hypostyle temple behind its pylon gateway, and a torch-lit tomb entrance whose burial chamber glows through the doorway.

What's inside

  • Terrain tiles: sand, dunes, dune slopes and corners, hardpan, a sandstone plaza, oasis water and shore tiles, and a reed-fringed river_nile_tile
  • Caravan roads: straight, corner, T and 4-way sand road tiles, plus an open caravan track
  • Town and market: mudbrick houses, a granary tower, bazaar stalls, souk lanterns, spice sacks, carpet rolls, baskets, amphorae and a stone well
  • Tomb and temple dressing: a sarcophagus, hieroglyph stela, tomb mural panel, offering altar, treasure hoard, braziers and wall torches
  • Life and transport: camels, a donkey cart, a ceremonial chariot and a felucca under lateen sail
  • Nature and sky: date and doum palms, papyrus, scrub, mesa outcrops, a rock arch, clouds, and day, dusk and night sky domes

Palettes and prebuilds

Four palettes re-tint the same models: Blazing Desert Day, Amber Dusk Kingdom, Cool Dawn Mirage and Torchlit Tomb Night. At night the torches, braziers, souk lanterns, house windows and the tomb chamber carry the light under a star-filled sky dome.

Five decoratable prebuilds give you finished set-pieces: tomb_entrance, bazaar_row, oasis_camp, temple_court and felucca_landing. Each has a static base, named decor nodes you can hide or swap, and empty slot_ anchors where your own props go.

Scale and use

Everything is 1 unit = 1 m, Y-up, +Z forward, with ground pieces laid out on a 4 m grid module. Every asset ships as a GLB with a typed React Three Fiber component, alongside a combined catalog file.

Good fits include an Egyptian or fantasy-desert game level, a museum or classroom scene, a city-builder map, or a landing page that orbits the pyramids at dusk.

Desert Kingdom FAQ

Ground pieces are laid out on a 4 m grid at 1 unit = 1 m, so you snap them edge to edge and rotate in 90° steps. The caravan road comes as straight, corner, T and 4-way tiles, the oasis has open water plus straight, inner-corner and outer-corner shore tiles, and river_nile_tile adds a reed-fringed river channel.
Night is the showpiece palette. The torches in the tomb-entrance brackets, the fire braziers, the hanging souk lanterns, the mudbrick house windows, the temple sanctuary and the tomb chamber behind its doorway all glow, while the rest of the desert drops to deep indigo under a star-filled night sky dome.
The prebuilds are tomb_entrance, bazaar_row, oasis_camp, temple_court and felucca_landing. Each one is a static base plus named decor nodes such as guardian_L, sarcophagus or lanterns that you can hide or replace, and empty slot anchors like slot_treasure or slot_camel that mark where to place your own props.
Yes. There are separate day, dusk and night sky domes plus a cloud set, so you can match the backdrop to the active palette. The night dome carries a starfield and moon, which pairs with the Torchlit Tomb Night palette for the darkest, most atmospheric version of the scene.

Load them in plain three.js with GLTFLoader plus DRACOLoader — or in React Three Fiber with drei's useGLTF hook. The licensed download also includes typed React Three Fiber components for the pack.
