A wind-sculpted drift: a long, smooth dune of packed snow with a gentle windward ramp crossed by wind ripples, a sharp crest, and a steep lee slip-face under a curling cornice lip. Its ends trail downwind like horns, a wind scoop hollows out blue-shadowed at the lee foot, and a low rim of thrown snow closes the scoop off downwind. Shaded where it meets the ground. The ground-cover scatter that makes the station look like it belongs on the ice.
