Autumn maple in full turn: four crown masses with real sky between them, each packed from eleven overlapping clumps so the foliage breaks into small facets rather than flat panels, each clump drifting its own tone across gold, orange and red over a deep-shadow base, with the undersides and the crown’s interior baked dark. Hung on real branches, fringed with individual leaves that lie along the clump surfaces instead of standing off them, buttressed at the root and drifted with fallen leaves at the foot. Frames the street edges in warm colour.
