The eased main-line curve: the rails leave both tile edges dead straight and the bend builds gradually through a transition into the arc and out again, the way a running line is actually canted and set out. Against the plain corner it reads as a long sweeping turn rather than a step of curvature at the joint — the tile to use where an express is meant to look fast.
