Ballast Curve Tile
The crushed-stone bed swept through a quarter-turn with no track on it: the same tipped, tamped, oiled-dark-in-the-middle formation as the straight, bent round the corner and battered out to a dry pale shoulder. Lay it under a curve to widen the formation to a double road, run it as a lifted or never-laid trackbed, or use it as the bed a scenic siding disappears into.
