The diesel multiple unit that replaced the branch tank engine: a driving cab at each end with a two-light windscreen, destination blind and four-character headcode, saloon windows and passenger doors sharing one bay pitch down each side, the exhaust pipe climbing the cab side to the roof, underfloor engine and radiator between the bogies, and warning panel yellow across both fronts. The modern face of the same branch line.
