The showpiece dome: a deep blue-black gradient under a pale moon with dark maria, a darker limb and a soft double halo; a few hundred stars of every size and brightness gathered into a faint milky band, the brightest few rayed; two thin haze banks, one warmed from beneath by the fires; and a column of live embers spiralling up out of the dark, bright and fat low down, small and fading as they climb.
