Murky witch bog: a mud bank falling away into a real sunken pool of black-green water, ringed with leaning reeds and cattails, lily pads turning on the surface, a half-sunk plank, a skull worked its way up out of the silt and pale wisps of fog lying over the water. A patch of sickly algae bubbles at the far side and lights the pool from within at night. A framed set-piece for the witch-hut corner — no shore set, by design.
