General Store
The village anchor (civic_central): the general store on its stilts over the water, a broad false front with hand-painted boards, a verandah the full width of it with posts and a rail, a screen door, crates and a drum stacked on the deck, and three warm windows that make it the brightest thing on the bayou at NIGHT. The one place in the swamp that sells ice, line and boiled crawfish.
