A quarter-turn of the unmarked track: both ruts sweep round the bend with their berms, tread and dark polish, the grassy crown follows between them, and dark water lies in two low spots of the rut floors. Outside the bend the shoulder widens into a stony, tufted verge going over to ash; a small grassy corner sits inside it. Both ends match the straight dirt track exactly, and every edge sits at the same level.
