Low-Poly Sacrificial Altar 3D Model (GLB)
The warm heart of the sanctuary: a moulded marble altar on a jointed travertine step, torus base and cyma crown mitred round the die, a frieze of ox skulls hung with laurel garlands carved in relief on all four faces, and volute bolsters (pulvini) at the ends of the mensa. The sacred fire burns open in a bronze pan between them over a bed of billets and coals, the stone around it scorched black; a votive bowl and a laurel wreath have been left on the step.
