Garden Pond

The ornamental pond at the bottom of the garden: an irregular ring of rounded boulders and pebbles holding back still green water, lily pads floating flat on it with a bloom or two open, reeds standing up through the near edge and the water going almost black where it deepens under them. Framed all the way round — it needs no shore tiles and no neighbours.
