This one has a lot in it: a big rework of our bestselling pack, a third interior kit, a downloads page that behaves, and something we switched on without saying a word.

What shipped this week#

City v2 is out — a full quality pass over the pack more of you own than any other. Same city, rebuilt to the standard we hold ourselves to now: cleaner geometry, tighter texturing, and a lot of small fixes to the buildings, street furniture and vehicles that we'd been quietly embarrassed by since the pack first launched. If you already own City, v2 is waiting in your account. See City v2.

Living Room Interior landed as well, our third interior pack. Sofas, armchairs, coffee tables, shelving, lamps, rugs, plants and the clutter that makes a room look lived in, so you can dress a complete living room without modelling a single cushion yourself. It sits alongside the two interior packs that came before it, and they're built to the same scale, so mixing them is the intended use. See Living Room Interior.

Blender and Unity, quietly#

We've been shipping assets for three.js since day one, and we know plenty of you drag them somewhere else afterwards. So this week we silently launched our first integrations for Blender and Unity, with Godot and Unreal Engine versions in the works. You'll find them at threejsassets.com/integrations.

Here's the honest bit: these are early iterations. We've tested them and they work, but "tested by two people" isn't the same as "tested by everyone's setup", and there will be bugs. If you hit one, open a ticket with what you were doing and what broke, and we'll turn it around fast. That feedback is how these get good.

A few more wins#

  • The account downloads page got a refresh. Browsing your purchases is easier, and you can now grab a whole pack or a single asset from the same place.
  • While we were in there, we fixed a bug that stopped you from downloading every available icon as a single zip. If you'd tried that and given up, try again.
  • Plus the usual pile of smaller wins that don't make for good bullet points.

Where the Lifetime price goes from here#

All-Access Lifetime is $97 today. On September 10 it goes to $127.

The reason is the mechanism, not a marketing calendar: the pack count keeps growing, so we raise the Lifetime price every eight releases, which at our pace is about every four weeks. Whatever you pay is a one-time payment against everything we've shipped and everything we ship after, so the earlier you get in, the more of that arithmetic runs in your favour. It's a good deal today. Give it a few more increments and it becomes a slightly ridiculous one.

Coming up next#

More packs, and Godot and Unreal integrations once they're past the point where we'd be embarrassed to hand them over. There's more in the works this week that we're not ready to name yet. We'll tell you when it's real.

That's the week.

Cheers,
Aron & Sharon
