A smaller turf-roofed cottage for a fjordside family: low battered plank walls hunkered on a drystone footing under a heavy sod roof grown thick with grass, sagging between crossed bargeboards that finish in a single carved beast at the hero gable. One warm window sits beside a plank door on a worn stone threshold, a stubby vent glows over the hearth, and split firewood is stacked and rail-dried along the sheltered flank with the axe still sunk in the block.
