Low-Poly Satellite Dish 3D Model (GLB)
A satellite ground terminal aimed low at the horizon, the way a polar station has to aim to see a geostationary bird at all. A deep turned parabolic reflector with a rolled rim, back ribs and a hub is carried on a motorised az-el mount (azimuth collar, clevis plates, elevation jack screw and a counterweight arm) atop a braced pedestal. A feed horn and LNB sit at the focus on four struts. The non-penetrating base frame is weighed down with stacked concrete ballast blocks, and a coax run is tied down the pedestal and away over the snow. Snow is caught along the top of the rim and on the ballast.
