Low-Poly Refuge Hut 3D Model (GLB)
The emergency refuge hut: a rounded orange fibreglass "apple" shell out on the ice, its moulded panels joined by raised flanges that run up to a vent cowl and lifting eye at the crown. Four round porthole windows and a bulkhead lamp over the door burn all night so you can find it in a whiteout; the curved door carries a red-cross refuge plate. It sits on a timber deck on two steel sledge runners with upturned noses and a tow bridle, is strapped down over the top and guyed to a snow stake, breathes through a stovepipe with a rain cap, and has an ice axe and a coil of rope hung by the door, a shovel stood against it and snow drifted up its windward side and pillowed on its crown. The safety story of the whole station in one asset -- if you can reach this, you live.
