The stockade run the gate closes off: fifteen split trunks driven point-up across the 4 m module, axe-hewn heads standing at the uneven heights felled timber actually gives you, railed together from behind on two heavy stringers, withy-bound at every second trunk, and held up by a pair of raker buttresses whose feet bite the turf. It carries the gate's own cross-section, so a run of wall meets the gate dead on and tiles end to end with itself.
