A 4.3 m improvised timber crossing that sags 75 mm over the void on two lofted stringers, laid on stone padstones at both ends — one board missing outright, one snapped off with its splinters still nailed down, one replaced with a paler unweathered plank, both bearing ends soaked black with rot, a dropped chisel wedged in a gap, a torch burn scorched into the eleventh board, and a knotted rope handline whose far-side rail is gone bar one snapped post trailing its frayed tail.
