The floor is gone: a rift runs the whole tile edge to edge, its flagstones cracked off and tipped into the void with a course still hanging unsupported over it, two corbelled bands of raw hewn rock narrowing below the finished paving, and a bottom that goes black rather than showing you a floor. A tarred rope is still made fast to a ringbolt on the near lip and trails over the edge into the dark, and one broken flag hangs up on the wall halfway down with a skull and the long bones of whoever it did not save.
