Inside, on a flagstone floor, a great screw press — a heavy oak frame, a hand-cut wooden screw turned by a capstan bar, a hooped basket of slatted staves on a spouted tray dripping into a tub — beside coopered barrels standing and racked on a cradle with a spigot, crates and a heap of apples, stoneware jugs and a lantern hung from the rafters. A scythe and a tin sign hang on the outside walls.
